Solio is a mixture of bush, savannahs and swamps, a rich and diverse ecosystem that supports one of the highest densities of white and black Rhinos in all of Africa, besides a healthy population of ungulates and big cats.

Solio is a 19,000 acre wildlife conservancy surrounded by a 45,000 acre ranch that is nestled in a valley below the Aberdare Mountain Range within the expansive Laikipia ecosystem. The conservancy is made up of a tapestry of large acacia forests, swamps, and open savannah grasslands. It is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya.  The wildlife experience in this reserve is both varied and prolific and visitors will find that sightings of up to 40 rhinoceros at a time are not uncommon.  Both Black and White Rhinos are seen here in abundance attracting filmmakers and photographers who come from all over the world to film and photograph these rare and endangered animals.
