To enter into Kenya an eTA is required for each passenger. This can be done online & costs $30 each.

The eTA is valid for 90 days, after this, the eTA is will become invalid. Should you require a longer stay we will be willing to offer you a solution.

The application should be made once you decide on your date of travel – to ensure you get the authorization before travel the latest you should you apply is 4 working days, you may not be able to board your flight unless you have this document.

There are a number of countries that do not require eTAs as follows:- EAC Member States; if you possess a valid Kenyan Passport or you are a Kenyan Permanent residence or Work Permit;Diplomatic Missions international organizations delegated to Kenya; travellers in transit to another country. If in doubt please ask us.

To make the application you will need to have the following readily available:

  • A valid passport. A passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date and it must have at least one blank page.
  • A clear photograph. The photograph must show your full face, it should be in color and taken on an off-white or plain white background.
  • Your contact information; a valid email address, phone number, etc
  • Full details of your departure and arrival itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation. A booking voucher is fine.
  • Acceptable means of payment for the eTA
  • Once approved it will be send to your email address.

The approved eTA is to be shown to the Immigration officer on arrival in Kenya along with your return ticket.

Based on your country of origin, you may also be required to have a yellow fever vaccine – we can advise on this should you need, depending on the countries you have recently visited or are traveling from.

If you have any queries we are here to help.

Applications for eTA can be made through the e-visa website: https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en

Please note that Kenya does not allow visas on arrival, and it is mandatory to obtain the eTA before traveling to Kenya.
